TagQuest is a mobile application developed by Pye-Barker Fire & Safety, LLC ("we," "us," or "our") for fire extinguisher inspection management. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the TagQuest app.
Information We Collect
Photos & Inspection Images: When you capture a photo of a fire extinguisher inspection tag, we collect the image you choose to submit for analysis.
Analysis Results: AI-generated inspection date verification, compliance status, and points awarded.
Account Information: Your name and email address (provided during sign-up or Microsoft Entra ID authentication).
Location Data: Approximate location to identify nearby businesses and assign inspections to the correct branch (only when you grant permission).
Technical Data: Device type, operating system version, and anonymized crash logs for app improvement.
How We Use Your Information
Analyze fire extinguisher inspection tags using Google Gemini AI to extract dates and verify compliance.
Calculate inspection points and track your progress on the leaderboard.
Route inspection leads to the appropriate regional team for follow-up.
Improve app performance and fix issues.
Provide customer support.
AI Processing & Third-Party Data Sharing
When you submit a photo for analysis, the image is sent to Google Gemini AI (via Google's enterprise API) solely for the purpose of reading inspection dates and determining compliance status. This is done using an enterprise-grade API key with enhanced security and data handling protections.
Google processes the image and returns the analysis results to our servers. We do not sell, share, or use your photos for any purpose other than inspection analysis. No photos are shared with advertisers or other third parties.
Your Consent
Before any photo is sent for AI analysis, you must provide explicit consent through a one-time consent dialog within the app. You may decline, in which case no photos will be sent for analysis. You can revoke consent at any time by clearing the app data or contacting us.
Data Storage & Security
Inspection results and points are stored securely on our backend servers hosted on Microsoft Azure with encryption in transit and at rest.
We retain inspection records for compliance reporting purposes as required by your organization.
We use industry-standard security measures including SSL/TLS, access controls, and Microsoft Entra ID authentication.
Your Rights
Request deletion of your account and all associated data.
Access or export your inspection history.
Opt out of AI analysis (photos will not be processed).
Contact us with questions about your data.
Permissions We Request
